More details please . What versions do you have.
If it was produced by a later version program you will need to get it saved as a compatible psp firl for an earlier version.
When you save as choose psp and then select Options and you have the choice of which version you can save it to be compatible for . eg psp8 has compatibility saves for PSP7, 6, 5, and 4.

Re: cant open file type PSPIMAGE
I have Paint Shop Pro version 7. These images are tubes Ive downloaded and unzipped.
Then when I try to open them after unzipping, the program says they are not a valid image.
I keep reading how people can save them as a psp image but, at what point are you able to change the type of
file it is? and does that work?
thanks for your help

Re: cant open file type PSPIMAGE
More information please. What is the file extension on these images. Are they Tub or PspTube?
I don't have Psp7 but do have 9 and X2, X3, X4, X5.
Have just done some tests and some .tub files load OK into PSP8 while some others do not.
To get the error ones to work I had to load them into PSP X4 (works also in X2 and above)
Then I resaved them to the desktop as a .png file.
I could then load it into PSP 8 and the export as a PspTube file and it was immediately accessable by PSP8.
So if you don't have a later version of PSP the you might have to find someone that can convert them to .png files for you.
