Old PE4 UPX files unreadable in PhotoImpact X3..

I used Ulead Photo Express 4 for several years on Win98, Win2000 and XP platforms.
Then I recently switched to PhotoImpact X3 trial version to test it for a while..
I found I wasn't able to open my old UPE4 .UPX formated images..

2 questions:

-Is there a SMALL utility that could help open my old .UPX files
to use them in PhotoImpact X3 ?

- If I can finally read my .UPX files in PI X3 what would be
a future image format to save them to that 'keeps' floating objects in them
like .UPX files do ?

I've never used Photo Express that saves files UPX.

Can you save files from the program as a UFO or PNG or PSD? If so, that would then enable the file to open in PIX3.

Unfortunately UPX is not a file format that will open in PIX3 as you have already found out.
