moving overlay photos/logos freely in a controlled way

Post by milosh »

Can I move in Video Studio objects like photos/logos in a fully custom, controlled professional way ?

I mean seriously speaking even youtube tutorials from people having popular tutorial channels look quite amateur so not sure if Corel video studio is any good for making for example nice looking serious marketing clips.

In particular I want to achieve pretty basic effect with sliding transparent title bar and then title appearing (for example current speaker name) and then slide off.

It's the basic thing you see on TV all the time in talk shows or news channels.

Do I need to literally for example create white rectangular jpg first to use it as a background bar for subtitles? And then for example apply transparency, animate it and then shpw/animate text on top?
I know there are attributes like Enter from right etc, but it's so simple and template like Powerpoint. I mean, I don't expect rolling in and out animation but at least more control over movement direction, position and timing.
I think the newest Path feature from X6 looks like something I would be after but is there anything for that in X5? It seams very basic feature.

And second question, if I want to keep it tidy and apply the same animation for each title/text do just copy the set of clips with effects or there are ways of saving the 'template' so it is equally precise and the same every time throughout the movie.

I am not sure exactly what you are after - the titling section of VideoStudio can make all sorts of text affects from scrolling across to scrolling up - appearing and fading - spiralling on and off - you name it you can do it - have a look at these three videos of mine - are we getting somewhere close or are you thinking more. Also look at the many pre-made effects in the title library - all of which can be modified - then download even more via the 'Do More' tab in the Corel Guide.

Once you have created a title you drag it up into library where it keeps an exact copy so that whenever you need it again you just drag a copy down - then you can change the text if you want to.

Hi

Well Video Studio can apply some good animation to the titles.
It can set a background colour under the text.

You could create a text that flies in then fades out if you wish,

Select the “T “ symbol (right of screen) will open the Text Options panel, the edit tab is a little like a word editor, to the bottom—Text Backdrop and Border Shadow options
Edit tab set the duration of the text by adjusting the digital clock.
Preferences F6 can set the default duration.

Choose the Attributes tab and you can set Animation
Tick the Apply button
“Drop” is selected by default, choose Fly
Now press the “TT” symbol to open a panel allowing you to manually select your options.
Choose to enter from a Side, and Exit Middle.
Choose a pause….
Click Ok
Notice the bar immediately below the preview screen, this sets the Pause duration.
Your text will fly in and remain on screen, for a short while that is.

Right click the clip in the timeline and select copy, float mouse to right and drop on timeline , position the new clip adjacent to the first, do not overlap.
Change the animation of this clip to Fade Out, use the same TT option.

Your text will now fly in then fade out.

If you wish to save this text and animation settings, simply drag the clip to the library.
