Hello
I am running Vid Studio Pro X4 and am 3 months into a year long project. I was interested in upgrading to Vid Studio X6 Ultimate but wanted to know if X6 will be able to read and properly load the .vsp file for this project which already has many clips, transitions, effects, and audio. Or, should I just stay with X4 until December when my project is finished and then upgrade starting next year's project fresh.
Thank you.
Mark

Re: X6 Ultimate Backward Compatible with X4?
Yes all previous projects will open in the latest version - so you should have no problem at all in opening X4 vsp files in X6 - I regularly progress through the versions and have no problems.
just be aware the reverse is not true - once you have opened a project in X6 and saved it you cannot then go back to X4 with them UNLESS - you do a "File >> Save as >> X4 project file"
so even if you switch to X6 and it does not work for you you can do the save as and go back to X4
If you have any concerns at all then why not download the free trial of X6 first and give it a try for a month.

Re: X6 Ultimate Backward Compatible with X4?
oh good to know. i'll just go for the full version and give it a whirl. don't like the demos. i do remember x4 was backward compatible with my earlier version of x2. would be nice if the upgrade was free.
Thank you...wish there were some more chatter about it.
