In the past I used Ulead VS 4,5 6 and finally upgraded to Corel VS Pro 4x. I didn't use it for a couple of years, and now, I have problems.
Library, in the right upper side, has no files at all. It is blank. I can drag video files (right now .avi) onto the timeline (or story board), I can for ex. trim them and according to instruction, click on File - Save trimmed video, it goes through rendering and "saves" it. It actually disappears. The original video file is intact on my hard disk, but the trimmed file is nowhere, it suppose to be (?) a new file with the old filename with -1 added. Where is it on my harddisk?
I can not drag a video file to the library section either. Note: Info (instruction or whatever) in Corel Manual does not say a word about how library suppose to operate. A better "educational" operating manual would be appreciated.
Pls advise, thank you.

Re: VS Pro X4 where is Library?
I'll need to think about the Library disappearing... I no longer have X4 installed on this computer.
Regarding your newly rendered file, what have you set in Preferences > General as your Working Folder? Newly created files would normally be stored there...

Hi Charles
The library structure has changes since Ulead 6, it is now a composite library, Video, Photo and Audio pages.
You can hide the library pages by clicking the icons top left of library as image.
Once you show the library, right click a clip and select “Locate on Computer”
There is also a Library Manager which allows you to export/save the libraries, if you wish to do that.

Re: VS Pro X4 where is Library?
The icons which Trevor has pointed to in his image actually hide the individual corresponding thumbnails in the library - make sure all three are gold coloured by clicking on them to see all thumbnails

Thank you Trevor, Brian, Ken
According to your info I found my files, In Preference I found the folder (thanks Ken) with my trimmed files as well. There are a lot of original ones, like the "samples" I want to get rid off. How can I simply create separately a folder just for the videos of a single project I am working on. Right, Library Manager would helpful if it would be much simpler. Thanks again fellows.

Re: VS Pro X4 where is Library?
just go to Windows Explorer and create a new folder wherever you want it and call it whatever you want - then in 'Preferences' set that as your working folder for the new project.
I usually also create a new library for each project.
Just for clarification -the VideoStudio library is NOT where you files are stored, your files can be stored anywhere on your hard drive and can be in more than one folder. The VideoStudio library simply contains a number of thumbnails which carry links to the actual files - you can delete thumbnails in the library without affecting your original files in any way

Re: VS Pro X4 where is Library?
Hi charles
User defined library pages
The image I provided also shows a “+ add” symbol
This will create a new empty library page, re-name it to a suitable name.
Use this for your own images.
There is a library manager that will allow you to export the library as a backup. You can also reset the library to its original state. This will of course remove any user created pages.
As mentioned by Brian the clips in the library and indeed in the timelines are thumbnails a virtual clip representing the clips on the hard drive. If you move, rename, delete the files on the hard drive Video Studio will request a Re-Link.
If you wish to find any virtual clips location, right click and select “locate on Computer”
Hope this helps
