Circular Print

Post by trvlnmny »

I am using PSP X3.
I have a photo that I want to paste into a CAD drawing as a 3" circle.
I have done a circular select and then crop selection.
This gets the picture to what I want but it puts it within a 3" x 3" rectangle.
I would like to just have the 3" circle.
Is this possible and how?
Thanks for any and all help.

No, AFAIK it's just the nature of digital graphics that an image will always be contained within a rectangular object.

You can use PSP to first delete the unwanted areas, then save the photo as a PNG (or TIF) -- those formats support the transparency resulting from the deletion.

Ken,
Thanks for your reply.
Would you be able to help me delete the 'unwanted' areas.
At present that is beyond my scope of knowledge.

Once you have "Cropped to Selection". Go to the Selection menu and select "Invert" This will select everything that was previously selected. So...everything except for the circle.

Then hit the "Delete" key. This will remove all of the areas around the circle.
