Scanner associations

Post by Norfolkman6 »

I have PaintShop Photo Pro X3 and a Canon LiDE200 Scanner.

The scanner has buttons which will automatically send the the scan to copier, email, etc. etc. when pressed. Once a button is pressed it comes up with the option to use either Twain or Paintshop Pro X3. I want it to always use TWAIN. There appears to be no option in the scanner software to remove the psp option which was obviously added when I installed X3.

What I am asking is whether it is possible within X3 to remove it's association with the scanner. I can't find anything in "preferences" and wonder if it is a registry change. Can anyone advise please?

Thanks in advance,

Geoff.

You might get better answers by asking Canon.

This has more to do with Windows than Corel or Canon. Try this:

Click Start> Devices and Printers (or go to Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Devices and Printers if you don't have that on the right side of the start menu).
Find the scanner (it needs to be on and recognized), right click it, click Scan Properties.
Choose the Events tab.
You should see a drop down menu for 'Select an event:', choose what button you want to assign, then under Actions choose 'Start this program' and find the program from the drop-down list.
Repeat with all other buttons you want to assign.

That's what I can do with my HP flatbed anyways.
Ironically, using PSP to scan just uses your WIA or TWAIN driver with your scanner anyways.
