After creating a DVD or HD Blu-ray disc to watch on my HD TV the video skips after every transition effect while watching the DVD or HD Blu-ray disc on my tv's and computers. The videos do not skip when I upload them to the internet.
What is causing this and how do I fix it?
I'm using external USB 2 hdd and USB 3hdd

Audio:
Audio type-mpeg audio layer 2
total samples-18, 166,967
attributes-48000hz, 16bit stereo

a. Where did they originate (camcorder, internet, TV card etc) Camcorders-SonyFX1 HDV and Canon XHA1 HDV
b. How did they get onto your hard drive (download, firewire, USB cable etc.) Firewire
Project Properties-
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps

Re: Video is skipping after transition effects
Hi George
And welcome to the forums
Apologies for the delay in replying to your question.
From your project, if you Share Create Video File-same as First Video, should render using your original video files properties.
Play the new file on the pc to check for those skips.
There were some issues with blips immediately after the transitions, but deselecting Smart Render cured this for some users. These affected older programs maybe vs12??? Corel did provide a fix, have you applied all patches
Share Create video file – Same as first Video open the save window, choose the Options Button and deselect Smart Render.
If Same as First video is not available then Share Create Video File DVD Slide show 16:9 should produce a standard video file for DVD disc, deselect Smart Render, again play this to check quality.
Note that converting the video for the internet may not use smart render, producing a good video……..

Re: Video is skipping after transition effects
Hi Trevor,
I tried something else that worked and everything is fine now. Below is what I found here on the User Web Board that I tried which fixed my problem:
Welcome to the forums. If you told us a bit more about your work flow after you have finished editing, it would help get a sensible response.
For instance, do you finish editing, then go to Share > Create Video File > DVD (as we recommend) to first prepare a DVD compatible mpeg-2 file from your original DV material? Or do you edit then jump straight to Share > Create Disc > DVD, and have the burning process do the conversion as part of its own routine (which can often cause problems)?

Re: Video is skipping after transition effects
Hi George
Going back to the beginning of time many of us create a video file first.
At one point that was the only approach you could do, Ulead VS 5, that’s a long time back.
However they did make it possible to add the project to the burner module, many had problems, so we always recommend creating the video file first.
Then using that new file to burn the disc.
Besides having the opportunity to play the video to check quality prior to burning the disc
Glad to hear you have cured the problem.
Have a read at the quick guide for Mpeg2
http://lata.me.uk/video_studio/guides/q ... e_mpeg.htm
Simply lists a workflow suitable for burning a standard dvd.
Video properties will need adjusting to your needs.
