Sorenson Video 3 issues

Having issues rendering using the Sorenson Video 3 codec in a mov wrapper. Either it stops rendering after 1 sec, and pretends nothing when wrong or I get a dialogue ok box:

Unable to add samples (osErr=-50)
17200127

Here's the options I'm using:

QuickTime Movie Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps
Frame-based
Sorenson Video 3
80% Quality, 24 Key Frame Rate
No audio.

I'm also using W7 64bit with VSProX4 & quicktime 7.5.5

Yes that happens to me when using those settings, I have no ides what the error means.

I usually use MPEG 4 Visual compression for QT

But prefer
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 5000 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps

Video is good quality and render times are quicker.

Sorenson 3 is a Quicktime legacy encoder. Legacy encoders have to be explicitly enabled in the Quicktime Player.

Edit > Preferences > Quicktime Preferences > Advanced Tab:
