Video Studio v7 SE can't capture for more than 7 mins

I am capturing video input using v7 SE.

I have been recording 15mins of video then stopping. When I play back what I have recorded the recording cuts off just after 7 minutes. Ihave donethis a number of times and the length of recording is always the same - give or take a number of seconds. I cannot find any setttings that would cause this. When captuing it 'appears' to be working ok.

Any ideas to help?

If you are capturing uncompressed AVI on a FAT32 volume, you're probably running into the 4GB size limit. But, given the total lack of information about your system and what you are doing, we can't tell.

I am capturing to MPEG2 and the file size is only ca. 500MB so no problems with file size.

My system is:

Celeron 1.4Ghz
USB 2.0 on capture device
512MB ram
Avermedia EZmaker pro capture device
Dell DimensionXPS PC
ATI radeon 8200SE video
