X4 and Tile View

Post by Jim Hardin »

I hope I am just missing something silly with X4???

I have been using PSP 7, 9, X3 and X5 and none of them have this limitation!

What I like in the others is the ability to load multiple pictures and then, Tile Vertically or Horizontally...

Then click Maximize on one to full size and resize back to the Tile size (the Resize Down button)

However in X4 this is proving impossible as there is no button other than Close!
Once an individual picture from the 'Tile' is Maximized, image tabs show up along the top of the edit screen.

I have looked in the Help files and compared the settings of my versions but I cannot find a way to kill off those stupid tabs for the images in X4

I have some nice screen caps but the forum refuses to upload them...

Try Windows > and untick Tabbed Documents.
This has been a problem in X4 and I think the full lot of Service Packs managed to return that functionality.
It was fixed in X5 even the basic version without the service pack
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Thank you for the reply but I had tried that and it does not work...

When you click "Window - Tabbed Documents", they cascade.

As soon as you select "Window - Tile Horz or Vert" and Maximize one, the tabs return :|

I should have mentioned my version is 14.2.0.1

They fixed the X4 Tabbed Documents bug in X5. To get around the bug, you could add buttons to your toolbar to quickly switch back to Tile Vertically or Horizontally.
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16
