New Blue Titler EX for Pro X6

Post by Keithchr »

I have just installed the new Pro X6. Can someone tell me how to get the Newblue Titler EX into Pro X6 please?
The Corel comparison pdf shows that it should work.
I still have Pro X5 installed.

Many thanks for any help...

Normally I would say, just copy over the Titler.vft file from X5. But it seems to request a serial or activation number. So I think the X5 was made only to work with X5 and not X6...

Titler FX is a 'cut down' version of New Blue Titler Pro, however X6 Ultimate now includes ProDAD 6.1 which appears to be the full version and as such is far superior to Titler FX, so give that a try.

Hi Ken,
I did as you said and although it works in X6, it now has the New Blue Watermark (says trial expired) and requests an activation serial no. as you mentioned.
I have the fully paid for Videostudio versions.
This link http://www.corel.com/static/product_con ... rix_EN.pdf shows the list of features, as you can see, the Ultimate version (which I have) has the relevant box ticked.
Not sure where to go from here as the Videostudio bundled plug ins don't have serial numbers...

Oh - thanks Robert - I was typing a reply when yours came through - Will give the Prodad a try. I assume it is basically the same thing!

however X6 Ultimate now includes ProDAD 6.1
Did you mean proDAD or Boris Graffiti 6, which is included in the Ultimate package? If so, it performs a similar function to Titler...

The proDAD plug-ins for X6 are Mercalli, Vitascene, RotoPen and the new Handscript Animation...

Sorry Ken, yes I should have said Boris Graffite 6.1 not ProDAD, had been looking at ProDAD just before I posted.

I emailed customer services with this query:

Dear Corel - When I installed Pro X5 I was emailed a link by Corel which enabled me to download NewBlue Titler EX. This has not happened with Pro X6. Your pdf product comparison chart shows that the Ultimate version of Pro X6 should have New Blue Titler FX: http://www.corel.com/static/product_con ... rix_EN.pdf.
I tried to copy over the vft file from X5 but it has a NewBlue watermark and asks for an activation code in X6.
Please can you email me a link to NewBlue Titler EX for Pro X6. Thanks.

Here is Corel's reply to my query:

Thank you for contacting Corel Customer Support and for the continued patronage in Corel VideoStudio Pro.

Our new VideoStudio Pro X6 Ultimate is now bundled with NewBlue ColorFast, this product is not similar to the NewBlue filter in the recent version.

Corel VideoStudio Pro has NewBlue filters as bundled software to this product. To access this effects, you may select it from the 'FX' library in the program's Edit menu. This filter plugin will normally require you to register the product for the first use. Once done you're now ready to use this product with VideoStudio Pro.

Please note that this process will not make it into fully featured product, due to bundling limitation. If you wish to utilize all the features, you may opt to upgrade your software to its equivalent Pro edition. To have the activation code, you'll need to purchase its Pro version first from NewBlue. See the following link for more information about this product:

http://www.newbluefx.com/so/sonytitlerpro

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.
Regards, Nelson
Corel Customer Support Services

They have obviously not understood the problem- so have given up on it. They should remove the tick from the features box
for NewBlue Titler EX from their pdf product comparison chart.

Working with Boris Graffiti is a hugely steep learning curve if you want to use anything other than the standard templates.

One last question on this: If I create titles in Pro X5 using the NewBlue Titler, can I copy or import them into Pro X6?

Thanks for any help...

I confess I have never used Titler because of a problem with my dual GPU computer. Titler needs a high end GPU, and I have set my higher end Radeon GPU to be used when Titler is used, but it never seems to work unless I manually reconfigure the computer BIOS to always use the Radeon. That is too much of a hassle.

That being said, I am not sure which format(s) Titler outputs in. But if it outputs in standard video formats (e.g. AVCHD or DVD-compatible mpeg-2 or even uncompressed AVI), then yes, you should be able to output in X5 and use the new titles in X6.

That is in fact what I do with other Titling programs I have, such as Corel's Motion Studio 3D, Xara 3D or Bluff Titler, which I always use instead of Titler... Like you, I also find Graffiti too tough a learning curve when I have already mastered several other effective titling programs.

Gripps2211 channel has some training videos for Boris

I found them to be very useful, as are all of Gripps Video Studio training videos.

Purchased X6 ultimate online from Corel, the program registered itself after I entered the serial number. After installation I did not see the New Blue Titler EX anywhere. I did check the "DO MORE" tab in the help menu, but only saw templates .. but no download titler app.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Ed

Hi Ed,

In the 'Do More' click on the 'Tools' tab, there should be 3 items showing, the middle one is New Blue TitlerEx and is a free download.

I see the free Titler option in the "Do More" pages but when I select the option to Download I get this...
install_now.jpg
When I select the Install it simply goes away. Then later when I close VS the install option returns.
Again I select Install and it simply goes away. Nothing ever installs.
I thought it has something to do with Titler in X5 Ultimate so I uninstalled Titler from my pc altogether and cleaned the registry. Still no luck.
Now I don't have it at all in X5 or X6. That's ok as I only used it once or twice and am having more success with Boris Graffitti.
I did have this same problem with another add in some time ago on either X4 Ultimate or X5. I cannot remember.
I ended up having to uninstall everything and start over to correct.
I may do this as soon as I finish my current project.
Jack of all trades,
Master of none!

I had exactly the same problem so I contacted Corel:-

The instructions were:-
1) Update your Nvidia driver.
2) Delete your Temporary Internet Files
3) Temprarily disable your anti virus.
4) Download from http://www.corel.com/akdlm/6763/downloa ... tlerEx.exe

It downloaded a new version of NewBlue that did not have a X5 reference.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.
