AVCHD MAX 28000 KBPS

Post by snowstorm »

Good afternoon
I upgraded from X5 Ultimate to X6 Ultimate
I wish to create A video file AVCHD 1920x1080;with max video bitrate of 28k which I believe is the latest max standard
My understanding is that VS5 was capable of a max bitrate of 18k

I tried different options with X6 and yet cannot obtain the max standard of 28k
Can someone help
Thanks

If your original video is 28 Mbps, just use Share > Create Video File > Same As First Video Clip...

If indeed your original video is 28 Mbps, and you will be producing a lot of video with this bitrate, then you can also make a Custom template which will give you that output. Click on Settings > Make Movie Template Manager. In the dialogue box which appears, click on the Add button. In the new dialogue which then appears, click on the "..." button beside the Path window and navigate to where you have one of your 28 Mbps files stored, and select it. That path will then appear in that window. Give the template a name you will remember and click OK to close that box, then Close to close the original dialogue box. In future, when you want to produce a new video with 28 Mbps, select Share > Create Video File > Custom, and your new template will appear at the bottom of the drop down menu.

Thank you for that, Ken. My new camera can record 28 Mbps, and I will want to use it for some higher-end projects. I assume there is no problem mixing 17, 24 and 28 Mbps AVCHD files on the same timeline... any thoughts on that?

There's no problem associated with mixing clips with different bitrates in the same project. It's really only the Field Order you have to worry about, and in your case, since the videos are all high def, they will all be the same field order (UFF). But if you render the final project at 28 Mbps, you shouldn't expect those clips which have lower bitrates -- and thus a little lower quality -- to take on higher quality because of the higher final bitrate.
