Well I seem to have missed a step out when setting the new audio drivers properties.
Unfortunately this makes my set up easer than ever.

The Playback tab showed the default tab to be Headphones, this I changed to Speakers, previously this may have changed when tweaked other settings.

Anyway I simply changed the Playback to Speakers as default.
Then from the Recording Tab set Stereo Mix as Ready by changing Disable to Enable

And that is all I had to do.

The Stereo Mix slider shows the volume bouncing up and down.

Screen Recording
Unfortunately System Audio is not available with the error “no system audio Detected”
The option via Sound Check still allows me to select Stereo Mix and record successfully.

Ken can you check out the Playback tab options?

I will continue to rectify the System Audio option but feel it is the type of driver I have installed.
Hi Trevor,

My devices are different. Playback is set to "Speakers / Headphones" which is what it should be.

For me "Rec. Playback" does not show the volume changing with any combination of settings I have tried. In addition, I have not been able to get any application to record from "Rec. Playback". (Except with the driver, mentioned above, that messed up everything else.) There is no other choice for a driver update.

I have not had trouble with "System Audio" except that there is no sound. As long as you can use "Stereo Mix" or "Rec. Playback" for Voice, that should be equivalent, based on my understanding of how the internals work.

On the other hand Freecorder works. It is apparently not using the browser and the Internet as I thought might be the case. It records a locally running application with no connection to the browser or Internet just fine. In addition, it does not use "Rec. Playback", as it works even when this is disabled. So audio capture from the speakers _can_ be done, just not from VS5 on my computer (and apparently others as mentioned in this topic).

Thanks again for your help. I believe we have eliminated any discrepancy among our settings as the problem, and I appreciate all the time you have put in.

I have X6 on my ASUS win7, and I can't figure out how to fix this issue. I've tried EVERYTHING, I've updated the drivers, enabled stereo mix, uninstalled/reinstalled X6 etc. But neither the voice or system audio works. They both say no voice/system audio detected. Can they find a fix for this?!

Hi pcorp1

And welcome to the forums.

I assume you have tried all the suggestions in the previous replies.

If you were to use say Skype to talk over the internet does that work.
I know it’s a daft question but we have to be certain that your audio devices do work with other software.

Have you visited the ASUS web site for the latest drivers for your motherboard.

Can you fill in more details regarding your system so that your MB type is included.

I also have ASUS so a similar system to you and worked fine in the past, however I have just tried a Screen Capture and receiving an error after pressing record.
