Problems with Layout Page
I am trying to make a Christmas DVD to send to relatives and am stuck at one point. The capturing, editing, etc. has all gone smoothly. I have created the thumbnail of the one video that I want to work with. That part is fine. I then press the 'next' button and proceed to the page where I am to chose a basic layout. This is where things are not correct. From what I see on your tutorial website (and Ulead's as well) I am supposed to have the option of working with several various layouts. On my screen there are not any layouts to chose from, nothing happens when I press the customize button and my video thumbnail is not visible either! If I press the 'next' button again, I go to the next page where I assume that I would be able to burn my video into a DVD, but I do not want to do that. I really want to have a layout that is customized to suit my Christmas DVD. Am I doing a stupid beginners' mistake and missing something here or is there something else amiss? Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.

Menu templates
Just an update on my earlier post. I guess the correct name for this page that I am having trouble with is the ' menu template ' page. As I mentioned earlier, I do not have any menu template options to chose from when I access this page. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Scotia
Have you installed all drivers from the installation disc?
Run Video Studio installation disc.
From the splash screen select ‘install utilities’
Have a look at the read me file.
Look at no 3 as below.
Intel Indeo 5.0 - This is the codec for creating or playing .AVI files in QuickTime. You should install Intel Indeo 5.0 or above to be able to use the style templates in the Ulead VideoStudio Movie Wizard.
Hoping this is all you need.

Thanks for the reply. I actually purchased my VideoStudio 8 through the 'upgrade' process. I downloaded the files from the Element 5 website last August to upgrade to VideoStudio 8. Is it possible that I did not download the entire upgrade? Everything seems to work correctly except for the menu templates. I appreciate your help
