Hi

The problem for me arose when I viewed the forum in a minimised window, the image did not view in full, however if we add an attachment rather than add a link via IMG tags you would upload the file to the forum site, as an attachment it would display in full, and allow the viewer to click to enlarge.
View the bottom of the post for the “Attachment” options.

Corel Guide
This can be accessed by pressing F1 on the keyboard whilst running Video Studio, as Brian mentioned this is the normal windows approach/shortcut key for most help.
Using Windows 7 64bit the files location should be here:-
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X4\en-US\VideoStudioHelp\wwhelp\wwhimpl\js\html\wwhelp.htm

Admin have also provided a link to some PDF guides, I gave a link in an earlier post………….

If you are having further problems the Corel Knowledge Base can be useful, I forum this page relating to guides.

If the selected font has those characters , the VS X6 supports them as well.

Certainly it should be able to handle ç,ö,ü as these are common to a number of other European languages, and I use them successfully in a variety of fonts in VS.

I assume from your name that you are Turkish -- Türk müsünüz? Can I also assume that your computer has a Turkish version of Windows, or at least has some Turkish-specific fonts on it? If so, what happens when, say, you type those specific characters in a word processing program like Word for Windows, then copy and paste them in a VS title?

İyi şanslar!!

Hi Ken this way does not work always ( I had lot of troubles in the past ).

The correct workflow should be to install those fonts and languages into windows - you should get on the bottom taskbar a new icon showing which language is active. You can create also shortcuts for the keyboard layout to switch between the languages.( eg. EN,TR,DE etc.)
If it is done, you should select the correct language (TR) and the corresponding character set in the VS X6 window (eg. ariel CE). Only in this case you will get those special characters. In most of other cases there will be just an empty space or box instead of character.
The default setting for VS X6 is for some reason the language what was activated during the first installation.

I am sure you are correct ... though I have successfully used the method I described above to insert Cyrillic (Russian etc) characters in VS titles without creating a Russian keyboard layout...

Ken,
Teşekkürler evet Türk'üm. Siz Türkçe'yi nereden biliyor sunuz? First of all OS is Win8 ENG. I might have been mislead for characters. Some of them are OK such as ç,ö,ü. I should pointed out that poroblem was not exist with ver5. If I create text in word then copy and paste it works. In the same title if I type again it does fail.

Thanks

I loose many things when I update. I would like to keep all the things ie music, text etc that I had in the previous versions.

When you upgrade you CAN keep EVERYTHING from previous versions - music/images/videos/previous projects/libraries/sound affects/your own edited works - there is no need to start again each time

I browsed through all 6 pages & didn't see this. I apologize if this was mentioned.

Allow fades and effect between the main and overlay track. I saw a "creative hack" on youtube for doing this. However it is much more complicated than just allowing it.

Allow the default transition time to be expressed in terms of seconds and frames. Right now you can only specify integer seconds, which is much to long.

Adding an Audio specific editor, would simplify merging audio and video files not created together.
VideoStudio X5 would not open an mp3 file.

Misc Wishlist Items

Post by edrizz »

1) Rather than having to set up a separate file structure within the library and import content thumbnails from the computer into that structure, simply use the file structure already on the computer and show thumbnails automatically for valid content without having to do an import (at least have an option to do this)

2) Ability to import video directly into Corel from common video devices such as Panasonic AVCHD. With my Panasonic camera, I have to use a different program to import to the PC, then go thru a separate step to load into the Corel library.

3) Multi-Camera functions (at least 2 cameras). Auto sync the videos based on the audio track, etc.).

4) Use of relative chapter points or queue points in a project. Currently, they mark a specific place in the video based on the time, so when clips are added, removed, or changed in duration they become useless. Would like to see an option for these chapter and queue points maintain the same place in the content, much like ripple editing works.

5) Add a feature to automatically create a movie or slideshow (select content that want to use, click movie style-- music, pace, theme, etc.), then click generate project.

6) Note which videos from the library are used in the current video file with a check mark or something on the clip in the library.

7) Performance with large numbers of AVCHD video files, including with the performance of loading all the thumbnails for a large project.

8) Be able to right click on a video in the timeline and locate it in the Libraries.

9) Much improved integration with DVD menus. Correct the long-time existing bugs where DVD menu content is not saved for a project. Consider making the Menu Creation portion as part of the project editing module, not part of the sharing module.

10) Fast forward/fast rewind buttons on the preview screen.

Re: Wishlist for Version X7 - Fix that last 1% render

Post by Davidk »

Rendering a project file to create a video file is stated as 'taking some time' . . but the things that go wrong in this process without any statement as to what or why are many. One thing that irritates me immensely is the last 1% of rendering (where the progress is seemingly stationary at 99% complete) - which supposedly includes writing the last file snippets, cleaning up all the working stuff etc etc - all of which are relatively simple tasks that ought to be over and done with faster than the rendering process, but it takes forever and forever. Even when it works OK. If it doesn't work OK, it just stalls there, no messages, the occasional HDD activity light flicker, and when one finally checks the task manager, it says VS is not responding. Arrrgggghh!!!

So for X7, rendering needs to be faster, and anything that goes wrong in rendering needs some advice to the user, but that last slaggily slow 1% particularly makes the whole process look crappy. Fix it please.

This might sound silly, but I'll add my two cents in for what I'd like to see:

The ability to soften the outside edges of a clip - for instance, when masking a frame and then moving it to fit in a certain area, not having the outside border of the clip show as a straight line down the center. No matter what mask I use or create in my Photoshop, I have run into this problem of the edge of the masked clip showing in the frame. Everything else is masked, except for that line. Not all the time, but enough that it would be cool if some filter could be created to soften or erase the edges of a clip too- not just the picture inside. Like "selective focus" does- but only on the outside edges.

The ability to "copy and paste all attributes" to transitions like we have for filters- this would really help on those transitions we customize.

There are other things I have thought of I would like to see in Corel, but can't remember what they were right now. lol
If and when they come back to me- probably when I actively need them during a project- if this thread is still here, I'll post then.
