Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
I'd ask in a previous wish list but hope to see this in Ver X7:
1. The ability to create a BD ISO instead of folders. If you want to burn a BD disk its easier to get 3rd party software that burns an ISO to disk than build from folders.
2. When buying the new version online a download of the full installation disk in an ISO format, so that you can burn your own disk and keep safe in case of re-installing at a later stage.
Though I struggled with problems in the past, which was very frustrating, I still think VS gives you the best value for the price you pay.
Thanks

Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
Which programs won't burn a folder? I have Nero, Ashampoo Burning Studio and ImgBurn, and all can burn folders to disc. ImgBurn is of course freeware. Roxio can also burn folders.its easier to get 3rd party software that burns an ISO to disk than build from folders.
Why do you need an ISO for that? If you have the download version on your computer, you can simply transfer it to a DVD as a data file, and thereafter, whenever needed, you can run Setup from that disc. You could even include a separate data file containing the Serial Number of the program.2. When buying the new version online a download of the full installation disk in an ISO format, so that you can burn your own disk and keep safe in case of re-installing at a later stage.

Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
I really do not want to spend money for another application like Nero etc just to burn a disk. Currently I use Imageburn freeware and I must say it is very user friendly as it helps me choosing the right option each time I use it. I always miss something which it corrects for me when building the disk from folder, but why not an ISO its just the more common option.

Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
Why must I burn a data DVD if I can burn a full installation disk. VS X6 Ultimate, which I bought, came with 2 separate downloads 1.4GB and 1.3GB. So I just want to do ONE (1) DOWNLOAD AND BURN MY DISK. No further arguments please I consider t my opinion as meaning full that's what this forum is here for. One of the biggest software companies "MICROSOFT" makes their software available in ISO format for download. Each company can decide what they do this is just a humble request for the "Wishlist". I hope people will stop bugging around in forums like this, even is they are administrators.

Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
As others have said:
1. Multicam with auto sync. At least 2 cameras
2. Real secondary color correction.
3. 64bit support
4. And this is a pet peeve of mine... an overlay track is always ABOVE the track. Titles are OVERlayed, not underlayed. But this is just me....
5. To be able to use Smartsound's Express Track/SonicFire Pro interface.
Oh, and Red Giant plugins like in Pinnacle Studio. They are really great.
ADDED: Timeline Markers.

Painting creator:
I recently did a long project where I wished to draw all kinds of things at various places.
My first request is when you open painting creator that it remembers what you used last.
Every time I opened it I had to select the pencil and change the size - every time.
It would also be good to have preferences where you could set the default size etc of each drawing utensil.
Pause for x seconds.
When you add the painting creator "video", it does the drawing then disappears. I wanted the last frame to pause so I could explain what was being shown (on a map or something).
It would be good to add a "pause last frame for x seconds" where you could easily adjust "x" any time.
Cheers
David

As far as I'm concerned, super (or ultra) slow motion such as Twixtor is the only piece that's missing in VS X6. The default slow motion option in VS is too simple and doesn't provide enough quality. So either a combination of VS and Twixtor as a Plugin, or a build-in super slo mo option.

Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
Something like Twixtor would be great. Especially with all the GoPro-like cameras out there that do the "action" stuff. A really smooth slow motion would be very nice.
I think it's time to take this software up to the next level.
There are some great features in it, but it still lacks the prosumer features that will take it to the next level.
I wonder if anyone from Corel reads this or takes any of this seriously......

Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
I'd like VS 7 to support video creation directly from Corel Presentations. I teach and using a video with audio is an effective instructional tool for self-study or review. So far, I've had to use Powerpoint to create such products.
Starting with v2007, Powerpoint has been able to generate a video file and Libre/OpenOffice Impress can generate a flash file, although neither allows you to capture audio. For that, along with supporting earlier versions, there are many third party apps to convert Powerpoints to video.
To convert a Presentations file to video you must either (1) convert it first to a Powerpoint file then use a PP->video converter, or, (2) save each slide as a graphic then import into VS.
There should be a more seamless integration between Presentations and VS; even something as simple as a menu option to save/export to a VS project would be a step in the right direction. But rather than just automating the "export to images"-"Import images" sequence, I 'd like to be able to edit a slide inside VS w/o having to go thru the whole export/import process.

Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
As I'm a bit new to VideoStudio (and so far I love it so I am about to buy it) I hope these wishlist features aren't already supported and I just haven't found them yet...
1. The clip fly-by (message displayed with mouse hovering over) should have the filename of the clip and the length in time.
2. Another track for deleted clip segments so they can be easily undeleted in any order.
3. A way to reduce the sound of the entire main video track rather than having to reduce the outside edges of all the clips or segments in the track.
4. As above, "Please make X7 64bit" - I agree. I am pleased to see with my Win 7 that when creating a video output file all the cores and their threads are busily banging away.

Let's not confuse 64-bit architecture with multithreadingSedes Gobhani wrote:[..]

Afaik Videostudio supports multithreading as of X5 (source). I guess a 64-bit version of the software would allow you to address more memory, and it would perform better on a 64-bit CPU because you don't have to emulate it using 32-bit instructions.
Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
I do many American Football highlight videos for local schools and youth organizations and many of the videos have 100+ clips. I would like to be able to select a folder or group of video clips and have them inserted randomly into the video track.

Re: VideoStudio Pro - Wishlist for Version X7
As far as I am aware, only Adobe make a MAC version of PRE and PRE Pro, then they have the resources to enable them to. Looking at it from Corels point of view, would it be cost effective to make a MAC version, the answer to that would be probably NO, even CyberLink and they are the biggest retailer of video editing software, do not have a MAC version for PowerDirector, the most commonly used NLE on the market today. Corels market share of the video editing market is about 2% or less so to commit capital to develop a MAC version, where the demand would be even less, would not be high on the bean counters list of priorities.Rich2Putt wrote:Sell a Mac version.
