I just got an ACER S230HL wide screen monitor and its' set to 1980 x 1080 resolution.
Video studio pro I thought would just snap to the monitor size, as it used to on older montior, but it doesn't. And, frustration - there is no tab on the top bar to ask it to do so. So I've got about 8" of unused monitor space on the right side. I just know there is a setting somewhere I can't recall. I've done a search of these forums and found nothing thus far.
Any ideas would be most appreciate. And if its not resolvable.... such is computer life.
thanks everyone

Re: monitor size in VSX3
That's very curious. I just thought all versions up to and including X4 automatically filled the entire screen. X5 was the first version which finally acceded to users' wishes to allow the VS window to be adjustable. Certainly all versions before that filled up my monitor screens, whether they were 18", 20", 22" and now 24"...
I am not sure what to suggest apart from looking at Preferences > Layout. While there is nothing there specifically relating to screen size, it could be that trying the other layout options might adjust things for you.
I also assume that the VS screen does not give any adjustment arrow when you hover the mouse over the left hand rim of the program screen...

Re: monitor size in VSX3
Hey Ken:
I have readjusted the settings on my NVidea card. It seems I can adjust how programs appear on the screen, size position etc. So I put it to full screen for programs a viola! The program fills all of the 24" monitor just fine.
thanks your response. I guess it can depend on which video card one uses and how one sets up the card and the computer to display applications/programs. i learn everyday.
again, thanks
