Dear Sirs,
I’m a big fan of Corel products and I have a big problem with my Ulead VideoStudio 11. Is working fine except the fact that when I finnaly save a video file the image has small and very short interruptions ( staccato ). I mean is not smooth espescially where I have pans or people moving in front of the camera. I tried to save in different formats but the result is the same. I use a PC with :
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 ( licensed and daily updated )
Intel SSD 120 GB
Intel Sandy Bridge i5 / 3300 Mhz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 560
4 GB Ram
All drivers are updated. Please, can you help me ? Thank you so much !
George
PS. Scuse my English writing but I hope you understood my problem…

Re: Problems With Ulead Studio 11
Hello George
and welcome to the forums.
Video Studio 11 is quite old and was designed before Windows 7 so may not perform that well. I do not think there was a patch for VS 11, even so the program is so old it is no longer supported by Corel, in fact an old Ulead program.
You do not give any details regarding your video file, some formats are difficult to edit, please right click on an original clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they.?
Now tell us how you are converting them.
We assume you are doing Share Create Video file, which option do you use?
At this point a save window opens, please choose the options button and de-select Smart Render, does that improve things
As mentioned earlier the problem may be the old version of VS11 and Windows 7
I would suggest you download the trial version of the latest program and give it a run, the trial lasts 30 days so should give you time to evaluate.
PS your English is very good......

Thank you so much Mister for your amability. And THANKS because the videos are much better when I unchecked smart rendering in “save video file “ options. By the way, “non-square pixel rendering”is better to be checked or unchecked ?
If you are so nice please let me ask you three short questions :
1. Do I need a special codec pack for windows 7 ?
2. What format is the BEST for edit in Corel Video Studio ? ( any format you will suggest is fine for me )
3. What Corel Studio is better for windows 7 ? If I will upgrade ?
Sincerely, George

Re: Problems With Ulead Studio 11
Hi George
Sorry for the delay in my reply.
Non-Square Pixel Rendering, this option should remain selected, at least for most video types.
1/ as far as I know there are no special codec packs required, Windows 7 and Video Studio should install all that you need.
However some types may require additional codecs, Corel do recommend installing K-Lite, please read this article…….
Video files from a Digital Camera or Digital Camcorder will not import for editing in VideoStudio
2 / Formats
Your original footage will determine what you use, then what you intend to use the video for.
If a DVD Disc then DVD Mpeg2 would be suitable
If for the internet then probably MP4
The exact settings of course depends on your original files.
Also your Computers specification does have an impact on performance.
3 / for Windows 7 from the latest version Video Studio X5 however a new version is due to be launched in the next few days, (X6) I would advise that you first download the trial version of X5 whilst its still available giving it a run. As X5 is being superseded you may find good deals on line from Corel.
