pls help with fading out titles

Post by tranceracer »

Good news on the front, so far I've been editing a family video for over 4hrs straight and have not had any crashes or hiccups.

Can someone assist me with fading out titles. I have an opening title sequence that fades in fine using the "Fade Animation" (preset 2 top row) but the text jumps off the screen at the end. I would like it to fade nicely and segue into my video sequence.

I've tried to drag and drop the cross fade transition but VS8 does not allow me to do this.

Does anyone have any suggestions how I can fade out titles.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Simply duplicate the existing title and change the animation type of the second title to fade out instead of fade in.

Unless things have changed a lot, the Titles animations also have a cross fade effect which you can choose, and you can furthermore select whether the fade-in or out are slow or quick and whether the title stays on screen a longer or short time before fading in/out.

Thanks Ken for the tip!
I tired to use the Title cross fade (clicked on the double T next to the Fade drop down) but it did not do what I expected. It put my whole title on the page and faded each word in and out.

The effect I was looking for was to fade each word in and then fade all the text out which was tip the one that THof recommended.

Appreciate everyone's help!
