I have VS X2 and am thinking about upgrading (if that's the right word).
The issues I'm having include not being able to use M4V files and having transitions look different on a DVD vs on the computer (I get the transition the way I like it, and then when I burn a DVD the second clip's start is cut off, vs. what I saw on the computer).
Have these things been remedied in VSX5? I'm not so much interested in fancy new features as I am in having simple stuff work correctly (which is apparently always the lowest priority, if even that, when any software company comes out with a new version).
Also, does anybody know if they're about to come out with a VSX6 so I'll feel screwed if I buy VS5 today?

Re: VS X2 vs. VS X5
I never saw any of those problems with transitions in X2 and I certainly never see them in X5.
and the format supported list for X5 does not seem to include M4V but reads like this
might be worth waitng a week or so.
unfortunately though X2 will not qualify you for the reduced price upgrade to X5 or X6.

No official statements about X6 but Amazon UK are taking orders and quote a release date of 8th March - but there is no mention of X6 on the Amazon.com website.Corel Website wrote:Input Formats Supported

Re: VS X2 vs. VS X5
Yeah, there are bugs in transitions. There is also a short audio dropout during transitions, which is horrible in what's supposed to look like a professional video. Even with fade out-fade in there's a dropout. And unfortunately the clips I'm working with don't start with silence so it's quite noticeable.

Re: VS X2 vs. VS X5
according to an article I have just read if you change the extension of your M4V files to mp4 most video programmes will accept them and process them as mpeg-4 video
