I have a project I'm working on in VSP5 (latest updates applied). I am using none of the audio recorded with the video, everything is being added as voice over tracks and music. The problem I am having is that I have all of the audio recorded and imported to VS. I did do some basic editing to get rid of some blank air time, etc. It sounds GREAT when i play it back in the software. But, I am also trying to create an Audio file of the voiceovers (no video). Once I render the audio file (in MP4 or WAV and in any quality), I am getting poping noises in parts of the audio. It's always in the same parts and its not a recording issue, the noise sounds like a streaming issue if you were listening to it online. almost like a quick 'catchup' moment. There are times also at the spot of the cuts in the audio track where I am almost hearing the underlying track (that i have cut out) for a split second. I've tried moving the cut further back, but no luck.
I'm all but done with this project. I just need the audio to sound as good in the WAV/MP4 format as it does in the preview.....any ideas?!?!
thanks
lj

Re: Audio problems in rendering
Hi
and welcome to the forums
You mention Mp4 and Wav but do not say what type the original audio files are. I assume the voiceovers have been created externally, not with Video Studio? If they are MP3 types they can be problematic. Try using Wav as your original audio format.
How are you rendering/creating your audio files?
When you Share-Create Video File, from the Options button--deselect Smart Render, then try to save,

Re: Audio problems in rendering
Sorry for the lack of detail. Here is what I'm doing. I'm recording the voice-over on an IPhone using an addon mic. Just using the Voicememo app that comes stock. It records in MP4. I then import that into VS5 and drop it down to the voiceover line and add a little background music. right now, there is no video on this project.
I then edit the voice over to clip out the 'extra' time, screwups, extra takes, etc. Then when I have it all like i want it (and it sounds GREAT in the preview mode), I go to SHARE and select 'Create Sound File'. From here, I have tried both WAV and MP4 formats with the same results. I've tried at multiple sampling rates and Formats. But the 'poping' and stutters are still there.
I assumed it might have been caused by the edits and cuts, but some of the most noticeable pops happen in the middle of a take, nowhere near an edit. And when I save the file in any format, the pops happen at the same place everytime, so it's not like my machine is having trouble rendering...that would cause random issues, I'd assume.
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to play with it some more, but as much as I love VS5, this is going to be problematic for me since most of my projects require narration BEFORE I create the video. I want to have the audio complete and in a file (not part of the edit) for several reasons, so I really need this working.
Thanks again!
