What is an .iso file? And How do i burn it to cd?

What is an .iso file?

Am i right in thinking that this is an image file, when burnt acts as though it is an original Software Package or DVD or what ever the file may be?

And if so, how do i burn these files using ulead .burn or movie factory?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

in burn.now, go to copy disc.

then in source at the top, select disc image file and browse to your iso

in DVDMF4 - Select Copy to Disc - Burn Image to Disc
Select Source. ie navigate to the .ISO
Select the Destination - DVD Burner
Click Copy.
