Multiple Chapters on 1st DVD Menu?
I have a single project in X5 with which I want to have several chapters on a DVD menu. The trick is that I want to have all of the chapters on the first DVD menu that comes up, not on a sub-menu to the main menu. The only way I have been able to accomplish this is to break the project into separate projects per chapter, then load each individual project into the Create Disc sofware through the Add Media option. This is a big hassle and something I do not want to do very often. Is there an easier way to accomplish what I am wanting or am I out of luck with this software?

First of all lets try to clear up what you mean by chapters.
In DVD terminology we talk of Titles and Chapters. A title is a single movie and it will be one item on the main DVD menu. If you have several movies you would then have several Titles.
Chapter are sub-divisions of one movie or Title. On commercial DVDs they are often called "scenes" and selected through a "Scene Selection" menu.
Now, which one are you talking about.
There is a limit to the number of Titles and Chapter items you can have on a single page.

Hi edrizz
Yes you can do that provided you only add the one video clip for the title menu.
Then add chapters will create the sub-menu/chapter menu
You may of course have the chapter points already set on the edit timeline.
On the second page choose the Edit tab-Advanced Settings—deselect Add Title Menu.
When you run the disc it should open with the chapter menu. The title menu being hidden.
The disadvantage of using chapters instead of individual video files is the navigation controls, these only control the title/main menu.
So when you select to play any chapter the disc will play to the end.

I am talking about Chapters. I do not want a Title menu that you have to go through to get to the chapter menu, I just want one DVD menu that is the chapter menu.canuck wrote:First of all lets try to clear up what you mean by chapters.

Thanks! This was exactly what I was looking for. When I previewed the DVD, after selecting a chapter and starting to view it, I was able to press the Top Menu key and it went back to the main menu, so I did not have to watch the video all the way through.
