Update to SP1 & 2 error

Post by MOY71 »

Hi Guys. Been trying to update my VS pro x4 to service pack 1 and 2 without much luck.

I get the error "The instsalled version of the application could not be determined. The setup will now terminate."

Any ideas how to fix this?

Am using Win7 home premium 64bit.
My VS pro x4 version is 14.2.0.23

Thanks!!!

The usual reason for that error is that the service packs are already installed - it can happen automatically depending on your settings.

The version number of your VideoStudio programme does indeed indicate that both service packs are already installed and that your version is up to date - so there is no problem.

Videostudio X5 with no SP installed will show the version number 15.0.#.#
with service pack one installed will show 15.1.#.#
and with service pack two installed will show 15.2.#.#

Hi

Just to add, as far as I know the later versions of X4 installation file contained the SP1, so you would only have to install SP2.

As Brian indicated an error usually indicates that the Patch has already been installed, you would think Corel could change the wording or the error message.

Your version number 14.2.0.23 indicates SP2 being installed
