I have a 10 slideshow SVCD project with some 300 photos. After creating the project I noticed that in the Ulead Preview step (just prior to the Burn step) the program substitutes "color bars" for the photo after having previewed roughly half of the slide show. This is not because of some problem with the jpeg files used because the effect "floats". That is, if I start the preview process with some of the later of the 10 slideshows and then continue with the earlier slideshows I come to a point where the program puts in the color bars. However, if I start with these earlier slideshows the affected pictures render just fine and the later ones do not. This effect carries over into the CD burn as well, whether I burn to disc directly or to an image file first and then a separate burn.
I have used Windows 2000 Task Manager to observe the CPU time and Memory Use for the DVDMF.exe program (the MF3 executable) while the program is previewing. Memory usage rapidly increase to about 650 MB during the first 3 or 4 slideshows previewed, then drops dramatically down to 30 to 40K. Page file memory increases to 1.4 GB. CPU time increases steadily to about 0:03:00 at which point I begin to get the color bars.
I have W2K, SP4 running on a 2.6 GHZ P4 Dell 8100. Virtual (page file) memory is set to the max allowed by Windows (4.9 GB). HD free space is 5 GB.

DLL patch solved problem
Thanks, I had since discovered the patches and they solved the problem. Unfortunately, Ulead's telephone tech support people did not tell me that there were patches
so I resorted to the Web Board.
