Clean Install.. no crashes.. yet MovieFactory doesn't work

I installed the latest "trial" version. I get no crashes yet when I select the "Intel" camera as the source, I only see a black screen and also notice no sound even though I am playing the DV tape on the JVC camera. I have the firewire cable attached to the computer on Windows 2000 Professional.. Anyone have any ideas what may be going wrong as I select "Make DVD Movie" with the software and try and capture the video with the camera?

You should have at least SP4 for windows2000.

What is the "Intel Camera"?
Your JVC if connected properly via firewire should be a selection
choice in the drop-down box listed for devices to capture from.
Are you clicking on the device selection box?
The JVC camcorder should be listed.
