But if you are talking about adding a voice-over to a video project, open your Windows Control Panel and click on the Sound icon. In the dialogue box which then appears, click on the Recording tab. There should normally be one or more possible recording devices listed there, and one will have a green tick on it as the default device. If there is another device, select that one instead. Then go back to Video Studio and see if that works.

hi Ken,
Thank you very much for your reply. Finally was my desktop pc problem......in my laptop worked properly.
May i ask you one more question regarding the screen recording feature?
i recorded 5' and the result was a .wmv 41MB with good quality. After i export this video in 640x360 mp4 format with 1500 or 2000 Kbps the result is a .mp4 video with no such good quality and larger....about 58MB with 1500 kbps and 68MB with 2000 kbps.
What is your suggestion regarding this issue?
Thank you in advance
Regards

I'm sorry, but I have no expertise on the screen capture feature since I have never managed to get it to work properly with audio in Video Studio. So I use another program for screen captures.

Hopefully, though, someone with expertise will soon answer your question.
