Fading in a text title / removing added transition

Hi,

i would like to fade-in a text title.

I've added a transition but maybe this is the wrong way because there is no existing image to blend over from.

Also the transition applies to the whole project and not just the title.

1) Should i use fx for this? If so, how can i fade-in the title from invisibible to visible?

2) How can i remove the "wrong" transition from the title? It's glued together and i can't see any options to solve this

OK - removing the transition which you do not want - - click on the transition (just the transition) so that it has a yellow border all round it - press the delete key on your keyboard - transition gone.

To fade in a text title - - click on the text block in the timeline so that it has a yellow border - open the Options panel (blue button above right hand end of the timeline) - the options panel has two tabs Edit and Attribute - click on the 'Attribute' tab - now click to put a 'blob' in the 'Animation' Radio knob AND check the box next to "Apply" - to the right of the apply box is a drop down change that to show 'Fade' a number of options will now present themselves - the very first being a normal fade in -

Having selected the fade you want look under the preview window and you will see a line which is part blue and has an orange 'finger' under it - the position of that finger determines the length of fade in. the fade i effect will also look better if you move the text block just a little to the right so that is half a second or so from the beginning and your video will then actually start without a title which will fade in - also remember if you want a longer fade - make the text box longer.
