VS ProX5 m2t file disappeared after rendering
I finished rendering a project as a .m2t video file AVCHD 1920x1080. At the end of the long rendering process (90 min for a complex 17 min project) the project has disappeared! I searched the computer, found the shortcut under Recent Items but it did not open it and the file is not present in the location the shortcut points to. I did a search for the title of the project throughout the entire computer aand still didn't find it. It's not in the trash. I have no idea what happened but I really don't want to lose all this work! this is the first time it happens to me. Any suggestions? Thanks

when VideoStudio has finished rendering a video file it puts a thumbnail in the library - usually in the default "Samples" pane - but it can go wherever you directed it - do you have a thumbnail which may be associated with the new video in any of your library panes ?.
were you actually at your computer when rendering completed - did you actually see the end and a thumbnail appear in your library.
one of the default settings when rendering a video file is "Play file after creating it" - unless you have changed that setting you should have seen the video playing once rendering was complete - did you notice that.

Hi, I was at my computer when rendering completed: no thumbnail appeared in any of the libraries, and of course it didn´t play despite the default setting...

It dies rather sound as though it never actually rendered at all.

Amazing: it has been working hard for 1,5 hours with all Processes going on correctly (as monitored through the Resource monitor tool) and the advancemet bar moving from 0% to 100% and nothing happened?????

Re: VS ProX5 m2t file disappeared after rendering
Hi, I repeated the whole operation and followed step by step the rendering process: the file m2t built up as expected in the target location up to 2160 Mo at 99% rendering, then suddenly (and magically) disappeared once 100% was achieved. I have no detectable virus in my computer and everything else looks fine.
Help please!!!!
Help please!!!!

Re: VS ProX5 m2t file disappeared after rendering. audio any
Hi, eventually I found the solution: the problem was linked to the project itself (before rendering) which stopped suddenly playing in correspondence with a certain clip I had inserted in an overlay track.
For that clip I had split video and sound. For unknown reasons VS didn´t like that fractionation and stopped playing (Which resulted in m2t file disappearance when that time point was achieved during rendering).
Once I eliminated the video/audio split and reconstituted the full clip, everything went OK, both at the project playing and the rendering step.
The take-home message? Do not split audio and video in clips in the overlay track! Hope this can help, but don´t know how generally this applies.
