Videostudio X5 freezing
I am editing a project in Videostudio X5. Whenever I get to 15.26 on the timeline the project freezes. It keeps freesing in this and the next clip. If I go forward two clips and try starting from there (15.38), the cursor jumps to the end of the project. I have tried deleting the offending clips, but the same problems recur at the same 15.26 min. I also tried saving the project with another name, thinking it might be a disc corruption issue, but this made no difference. As noted in my first post, I have been unable to dowloand the SP1. The only other thing I can think of is to remove and re-install the application, but this is complicated considering the add-ons that came with it (Mercati, Roto Pen and others). Has anyone any ideas?

Re: Videostudio X5 freezing
If you move the clips to different position in the time line does the freezing move with the clips
AND
If you start a brand new project with totally different clips do you still get a freezing problem ?

No, it does not move with the clips. The freezing still occurs at 15.26

Re: Videostudio X5 freezing
OK so it is something within VideoStudio itself - I cannot immediately think what it could be though.

Re: Videostudio X5 freezing
I used to be able to submit such difficult questions (which has never happened before and I have been using Videostudio since Version 8!) to Corel, but I see on their web site that they are giving priority to people paying extra for support. Whatever one may think of this policy, I have been unable to find anywhere on their web site where you can submit problems without paying for it. Have I missed something?

Re: Videostudio X5 freezing
In answer to your second quesion, I have just opened another project that I set up before this one. It is playing without freezing, but I haven't started editing it yet.

Re: Videostudio X5 freezing
Freezing usually is caused by insufficient memory. When it freezes, try to pull up task manager and see what the memory utilization looks like. Also check CPU utilization to be sure.

Re: Videostudio X5 freezing
No - this is not causing the problem. Memory use is only 30% of 6GB and CPU use is only 2% . Mind you, this is after is has frozen - but even immediately before the freezing the memory use is less than 30% and the CPU use is about 20 - 40%.
