Odd... I got the same message when I started VS x4 this morning. I rebooted the computer, restarted x4 and it's working fine. Have you tried rebooting?

Well it depends on how determined you are to continue using VideoStudio if your really determined the ultimate is to do what the error message says and contact Corel Technical support and send them the DMP file.

There is a link on this page to contact technical support :- http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index.jsp?pgid=800034

But Brian, Corel Tech Support is not available anymore, unless you are prepared to pay for that privilege, so now, if we find a bug in the program, we are required to PAY to tell Corel that their program is faulty, what other NLE provider imposes this type of restrictive practice. I also use Adobe and CyberLink products and Tech Support from them is free and always available.

I really like X5, but I don't think that I will upgrade to the next version, if I have to pay to report problems.

Yes I know Robert, which is why I said it depended on how determined drachouk was to use VideoStudio.

if he is not determined then presumably he will not pay and Corel will lose yet another customer.

I had the same error message a couple of months ago, but it was during the load of a video file and not VSX5 start. I reinstalled Direct X 11, and it corrected my problem. It might be worth a try to reinstall Direct X.

well,
just bought vs 5, just installed, just not workin'    ..same problems as up.......
it is very frustrating that such an important program to have these crashes....
I sent a support request to Corel, .. we'll see if they solve the problem...
right to ask where I'm going to take the dump file?
just a question...... when vs5 was in installation a message occured:
"Can not find the library, continue scripts on this page?".. more or less....y tiped yes......
maybe this was the fatal error?
thanks
