Using the web creation tools in PI 10, I can find no way to insert text links. the only information I can find is on linking objects. Can someone give me a clue as to how adding text links to a side bar, or in line with copy is done with PI 10 or an PI for that matter. I'm not a stranger to html infact I build mostly with a notepad. I wanted to give this what you see is what you get web creation tool a chance but this problem has me befuddled. And how can one see ones progress in code or manipulate the code. Answers would be greatly apprediated.
Thanks

I am not sure I fully understand your question.

If I create a web page as a new file, I can then add plain TEST as a link button. Right click on the text, select either Edit HTML Text Object, from the HTML Edit Text Entry Dialog Box, and select the last Icon URL. Or, click on the text and from the Menu select Properties, in the Properties Dialog Box select the tab named Hyperlink.

Ordinarily you would create a Button Bar using the Web, Component Designer, Button Bar, your selection here. When you have selected the Button Bar of your choice you will get the Component Designer Dialog Box, in which you can make all of the changes to text and links.

To save your finished Web Page in HTML format, go to File, Save for WEB, as HTML, save your file with the appropriate name. The resulting file can then be opened by IE or an HTML Editor. I have never tried to view the code in PI, can’t answer that question.

PI is not your ordinary HTML Editor, graphic in nature, there is a lot of reading from the manual and familiarization with Menu components.

Thanks. True I don't understand the interface or the menu commands very well. I am good to go with the graphics end but the web creator has me puzzled. I'll try to apply your mesage and see what happens. Let you know.
Or maybe after trying a few more things I'll be better able to frame my questions.

Just the explanation needed

That was really helpful. It was late and I couldn't see past the save as for graphics files. That solved the html bit. Then I used the HTML text editor, highlighted the text that I wanted to make into a hyperlink, and used the icon buton to make the link. I looked at that text editing box till I had it imprinted and still couldn't think out of the box. I guess its really a pretty simple interface once one becomes familiar with it. It was esasy once it was explained.
Thanks again.

“Been there!” “Done that!” “Had that seriously frustrated experience, many times!” Even a dozen cups of coffee won’t help!! Good thing there wasn’t anything dangerous near-by, although my hair is really thin now!

Like Grandma used to say. “You can’t skin a cat while still alive!” I am in really big trouble with Animal Rights now!!
