VS X3 Cannot watch video clips in timeline or preview window

Hello I could really use some help as I have no clue why this is happening, I recently got a new pc, installed X3 and transferred my project files and relinked my clips for the current project i'm working on but when I went to preview my work it does not display the video instead just shows a green screen. It does this in both the timeline and the preview window. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

Since we have no idea of what is in the project -- format of clips etc -- it is impossible to say anything much. If you load individual clips which are in the project -- but don't load the project itself -- do they play or are they green too? Is it only green when you play the project or clips in Project mode but not in Clip mode?

srry i should of been a bit more specific, the file format is NTSC HDMV, when I drag a clip onto the timeline on its own it still doesn't play the video just the green screen but the audio still plays and it still doesn't play the video whether i'm in project mode or clip mode

anyone have any idea why this is doing this, It was working fine on my other pc but as soon as i moved it onto my new pc i started getting this problem and when i put some of the default clips that come with X3 onto the timeline they work ok

just tossing straws to the wind - but my thoughts are that something is missing from your new PC and by that I mean programmes like 'DivX', 'Quicktime', 'Java', 'Flashplayer' etc.

Also might be worth just checking "Settings >> Preferences" and checking what is showing against "Instant Playback target" it should be showing 'preview screen'

Ok my m8 gave me his old graphics card which was still better than my on board graphics with my new pc so went to check X3 and the video was working, no green screen. So still don't know what was happening or what changed to fix it but its working now, cheers anyway for the input and ideas, back to making videos

I would think that your old graphics card was not up to the job or had become faulty - that is why changing it for a newer one solved the problem
