RAW support for Nikon D600

Post by Petu »

I just purchased a Nikon D600 and found out that my Aftershot Pro does not support RAW format for this camera. Any idea when the support will be implemented?

No idea, maybe never.
The last update for cameras was produced by the original development team last summer before the where fired. Since then Corel did not bother to provide support for new cams.

But they are still selling the software!? And as a "Complete RAW workflow". Shouldn't they at least change it to "complete raw workflow if you happen to have an old camera...".
Is there an official statement from Corel that Aftershot Pro is dead?

Depends what you consider an official statement.
In my eyes only hot air so far (facebook postings that they are committed, last fall).

Is this typical for Corel? Buy software and kill it! And not inform anyone what's going on!

When the Corel takeover was announced, there was a lot of comment that "Corel is the place that software goes to die". I chose not to believe this then. I do now.

I wouldn't say they'll kill it - that implies actually doing something - but it seems clear that the intention is a slow wasting-away and death by pure neglect and inaction.

My gut feeling is that they'll let ASP wither on the vine and then roll up some of the more "useful" conversion aspects of it into a PSP-specific equivalent of Photoshop's ACR.
