I am trying to install a (boxed) version of VideoStudio X5 Ultimate as a fresh install. However, although I select either United Kingdom or PAL/SECAM as the TV standard, it installs with the NTSC settings as default.
I have used the VSX5_cleaner to ensure everything is removed, rebooted and re-run the installer but it seems to install the same every time.
We have two laptops (identical configuration) and it works perfectly on the first one.
I am installing logged in as the local administrator.
Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to fix it? I can't just use the current settings as it is trying to download video from a Sony HVR-HD1000E camera at 30fps that has been recorded at 25fps...
Apologies if this has been asked before, I have trawled the board looking for a solution...
VS X5 installs in NTSC when PAL is selected in installer.

Re: VS X5 installs in NTSC when PAL is selected in installer
Hi fearnleyp
And welcome to the forums, sorry for the delay in replying, your post does seem to have been somewhat overlooked
I do not think this problem has been reported before, at least I do not recall anything similar.
How are you checking the program for a Pal installation.?
After installing the program, add a clip to the timeline, any clip will do....Share Create Video File should show a list of default templates, selecting any of the DVD types should indicate 25fps for Pal, (view the lower properties panel) are you saying you see NTSC templates at 29 fps.?
Can you confirm what options you are given?
Downloading video from the camera should give the correct properties as recorded on the camera, at least Mini DV Standard Definition does, I would have thought that capturing HDV Mini DV would react the same with no re-coding during capture, what you have is what you get HDV.
Are you connecting the camera via Firewire?

Have you tried copying the installation disc content to the PC then install from those files.
