In no apparent pattern, MAP mode displays completely incorrect locations for my photos.
The same ones are mapped properly by Nikon View (attachment snap097).
One example is these coordinates:
Latitude: N 39d 12m 58.86s
Longitude: W 76d 31m 21.82s
Altitude: 182.00m
Altitude Reference: Sea level
Which is right near the Frances Scott Key Bridge in Maryland, USA.
PSP displays it as somewhere off the west coast of Africa (attachment snap096)

Re: Map Mode displays incorrect location
The only time I have used the map mode is to experiment with it. I tried it again with some files that had GPS data. Two of them had a location that I had entered and a third was from a cellphone image I had received that had the GPS embedded. All displayed correctly.
I tried your coordinates on an image as 39.21635 N, 76.52273 W and the display was correct. I couldn't find a way to enter the coordinates other than to place the marker on the map. I would have preferred to enter the numerical values in a field. However, I was able to edit the initial coordinates to the final value.
The erroneous location that you show for your photo off the west coast of Africa appears to be 0.21635 N, 0.52273 E; so it appears that the degree value was erased, minutes and seconds were used and since the values were positive the quadrant is N and E. I tried + and - in the coordinates and found that N and E are positive values and S and W are negative.
How were the coordiantes entered into the image you are using? What is the convention for coordinates in EXIF?
