PSP file formats
Both PSP and Corel Draw are Corel products. But my PSP (PROX5) does not list *.cdr formats as one of the formats it can read. Why is that? Is there a fix.

Re: PSP file formats
There's nothing to "fix" -- PSP simply does not open CDR files.
You can, however, export your vector graphic from CDR as an EMF file, which PSP will open as a vector image just fine.

Re: PSP file formats
Really quick addition.
PSP used to be able to open up older CDR files but the importer was highly incomplete and very little to no interest was expressed in this particular functionality. So around x4 or X5 the CDR import functionality was finally laid to rest after a good number of years. The CDR importer was honestly in such disrepair that the choices were limited and you'd have to purposely save for CDR 9 or earlier just to get it to work.
There are just so few reasons to even have this direct import option in PSP.

Re: PSP file formats
Agreed. When you think about it, in CDR the only reason to save as a *.CDR file is to preserve the layers, objects, and adjustments, etc., so the image can be easily adjusted at a later date. Since PSP is not a vector editing program, there's no reason to access those individual items in PSP. From CDR, one can export the entire image or only selected objects as EMF files, so PSP's EMF opening capabilities are just fine.LeviFiction wrote:There are just so few reasons to even have this direct import option in PSP.
It's a whole 'nother story that PSP cannot open Corel PhotoPaint CPT files, and PhotoPaint cannot open PSPIMAGE files....
