logic layer windvd information service is not yet ready. Ple

I can't get windvd 11 pro to run anymore, I get a grey dialog box with a big red 'x' and LogicLayer at the top of the box. In the dialog box it says: windvd information service is not yet ready. Please try again later. The software never launches. It played Blu-ray Discs beautifully until the latest patch. It will
work once when I uninstall/reinstall the software until I close the application, but it won't run again after when I get the same error message:

X LogicLayer - WinDVD information service is not yet ready. Please try again later.

What is windvd information service? Has anybody ever heard of it, and how can I bypass it or make it work? Having to uninstall/reinstall WinDVD 11 Pro to watch a Blu-ray Disc (and only as long as that first window is open) is not optimal.
