Can't start ProX5 ultimate using Windows8
Guys I get this error when trying to start ProX5 on my new computer which as Windows8,can anyone help?

Having a new computer could mean that you do not have enough Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Runtime installed, make sure you have the following installed.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package x86
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package x64
Microsoft Visual C++ SP1 Redistributable Package x86
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package x86
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package x64
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package x64
I am assuming that your new computer is 64 Bit, if still 32 bit, replace C++ 2010 x64 with C++ 2010x86 and you do not need the other 64 bit packages

Thanks Robert yes the computer is 64 bit. All is installed but still no luck, same error.

There can be many causes of this error, most common is a Windows error, however it can also be caused by a corrupt installation of X5 or conflict with another program and it can be very difficult to identify exactly were the conflict is.
Try uninstalling X5 and remove all traces of it from your computer, reboot, disable your firewall and anti virus then reinstall X5, then launch program, it it launches OK enable your firewall and antivirus, if you still get the error, then I think it will be necessary for you to contact Microsoft or your computer manufacturer for further assistance

And as a footnote, others users of X5 have got it working with Win 8 with no trouble, and you are the first to report this specific problem...
