long complicated timelines

Post by JimDodds »

I'm making a video that's an hour long, with hundreds of parts, and the Timeline is incredibly crowded and complicated.
Final Cut Express allows nested sequences (same as Projects?) where you can stack Timelines as if they were video layers
and see more "real estate." Can VideoStudio do anything similar with, perhaps, nested Projects? I can't seem to load
a Project file to the Timeline, so that doesn't work.

Thank you! :)

I would never even think of doing a hour long video as a single project but break it up into smaller, maybe 15 min, projects. They would be a lot easier to work with especially if you have hundreds of elements. If you output the projects to video files they can be easily combined later on or even added as titles in the authoring stage.

But yes, you can nest projects in VS -- though don't try nesting within an already nested video. And you also cannot edit the nested projects.
