I have a version of Corel PaintShop Pro X4 that I'm attempting to activate on a Windows 8 computer. The software has installed properly, but when I attempt to activate with the correct Purchase Serial Number and Activation code, I receive an invalid message stating the following:
"The Activation Code you have provided is invalid. Please try again, or visit www.corel.com for information on contacting customer service."
I'm positive I'm applying the correct serial number and activation codes, so what gives? Any suggestions?

Re: Activation Code Invalid
Contact Corel.
There could be any number of reasons for this, but if the activation codes are computer specific you may need a new activation code.

Re: Activation Code Invalid
Make sure you're putting an activation code where the activation code goes and a serial number where the serial number goes. They are not interchangeable. I believe the activation code is only used for systems that don't/won't/can't connect to the web. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

How would I go about gaining a new activation code?
I contacted Corel by phone and all it did was direct me to this forum.
Great customer service, eh?

The phone should not direct you here at all since this is a user to user board and not in anyway technical support for Corel. However, they will demand that you buy a support ticket since this probably isn't within the 90 day warranty.

Re: Activation Code Invalid
I had all sorts of issues with activation of PSP. (I had the same issues with x5 as I did with x4 etc). My problems was that I have two computers, 1 travel laptop and 1 work desk top, No amount of magic would allow me to enter the codes I was given. I emailed Corel with my problem. I got lucky, I guess, but I got an almost instant reply. I outlined my problem and the tech sent me new codes for both computers. He waited for me to enter the codes and confirm that they worked. All done via emails.
I've phoned Corel in the past and got good service. My guess is that Corel has more 'support' work than their few techs can handle. Sure I may have been very lucky. But from where I stand it seems Corel lacks the ability/will power to put together a good customer support system. A high quality/value product is worthless without customer support. Corel needs to devote sometime to customer support and relations. It's not rocket science. It's called marketing.
I would love to be in Corel's position. They have great products that could make serious money but somethings lacking in their will to take advantage of their position.
regards

Re: Activation Code Invalid
I have been a user of Corel since version 3 ( so about 20 years) and bought all the upgrades through the years, I have fairly recently spent £200+ on an upgrade to X6 I had it installed on several ( the max amount for my activation level) of my PCs and Laptops, all was working well. My laptop developed a problem so I had to reformat and re install windows. When I re loaded the X6 I received an activation message when I tried to activate it, I was informed that I had exceeded the number of times that I could activate it. I then spoke to customer service who seem to be the most aggressive and sales driven bunch I have ever come across but I eventually got out of them that there is nothing they can do about online activation issues. So I either pay for another product or don't have it on my laptop. Therefore it seems to me that you cannot reuse your activations, if I take this to the fullest eventuality when all my machine die, I will not have access to my software, surely this cannot be the case, if it is there must a law against this. Please tell me Customer "service" are wrong,it certainly doesn't bode well for the service contract they are trying to sell me online. I feel like I have been kicked in the teeth, I love Corel draw but this is making me think about getting to grips with the adobe packages that I have but have been left unused because of the familiarity of Corel .

Hi John
And welcome to the forums.
Can you confirm exactly what software you are talking about.?
You have posted to Corel Paint Shop Pro, the latest version is X5 and has only recently been launched so X6 is way in the future?

I am pretty sure he is talking about CorelDRAW... If so, then he is in the wrong web board. He should seek help from coreldraw.com/forums/
