Help With Saving Video In VideoStudio 9

Post by TheDeadPhenom »

Everytime I save a vid, it freezes at a certain spot. And other times, it goes really fast through the vid. Can anyone please help me fix this?

How? You've given us no useful information describing what you are doing and what your system looks like. The best you can expect at this point is a wild-a** guess...

Let's see. Windows XP, 128MB Ram, 32.5GB Hard drive. I made a custom video, and then when I save it, it will either freeze at one part, or go through really fast through the video.

What do you mean by "save it"? Do you mean after you've captured the video? Or do you mean after you've rendered the video for burning? Unless you can be more specific, no one can help you.

We also need to know when exactly you are playing it back: are you just playing it back while still in editing mode? If so, are you using 'Clip' playback or 'Project' playback? Or, as you have already been asked, is it after you have done all your editing and converted ('saved'???) your project to a DVD-compatible mpeg-2 and then burned it to disc; and you then play it back either in the computer or a stand-alone DVD player? We really do need to know EXACTLY what you mean by 'saved' and exactly how you are playing it back.

WIN XP on 128 MB of RAM? I'm surprised it does anything at all. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I have been told that XP needs at least 192 MB just to crank over reliably.

How much free space do you have on your HDD? What other processes are running? When did you do a defrag last?

Well, after I put the video together, and click the "Share" vid and go to "Create A Video". I saved as MPEG 1. I didnt watch any of it till he saved and played back. I am using "Clip Playback".

The problem might have to do with your source video. Did the video come from a vid-cam or did you capture it some other way? What format is it in? DV-AVI? MPEG2? or what? Does the source video play fine before you saved it as MPEG1?

UVS needs 256MB of RAM, and that doesn't include memory used by the operating system. It's highly likely that you are simply running out of memory.
