cannot install VideoStudio X5

Post by bobchich »

Having a real bad time here - I am at wits end. Had this installed and workind fine for a month or so. Just learning how to use this when today when I went to start it up it would get to the welcome box and just stop. The box was completely blank and the only way to turn the program off was to use the Task Manager to close it down.
After reading a few post on similiar situations - the advise was to uninstall then reinstall the software. Used the windows uninstaller, afterwards rebooted then tried to re-install.
When I put in the the DVD I get to the screen where I accept the license agreement - scrol to the bottom and check the box to accept - hit next and nothing happens. I checked the services.msc and the Application Experience is started and on automatic.
Tried this in the internal and external DVD drive with the same results.
Thank you in advance for any help

Unfortunately doing a normal Windows un-install is often not sufficient - the install puts odd files all over your computer which are not removed when running the windows un-install programme and it is very likely that one of those 'snippets' has been corrupted.

Corel have an article on completely remove VideoStudio which you will find here :- http://tinyurl.com/bx22trc

try following that and then do a clean reinstall .

You might also want to try those registry cleaners. Some files are still left on the registry that's probably the reason why you're having an issue. Try CCleaner and hope this helps.
