Dude, Where's My Sound?

Post by Glen10761 »

Hello.

I recentlly installed Ulead Movie Factory 4 trial version on my computer. Within very little time I assessed this was one of the best programs I had come across and was very interested in purchasing.

However I have discovered an annoying and unexplainable problem.

I will be as specific as I can. I installed the program as PAL because my location is the United Kingdom. I have used DVD software in the past and have had no difficulties regarding compatability with MPEG, AVI or DVD.

I would like to write to a 4.7Gb DVD+R, an AVI file with the following details.

Video:640x368 24Bits
Xvid MPEG-4 Codec Compression

Audio: 48,000kHZ, 16Bit, Stereo
MPEG Layer 3 Compression

I selected to export the Video file to MPEG format. I have tried virtually every setting avalible to me with concern to the conversion.

After the conversion is completed I add it to the video menu thingy, in Create Video DVD, DVD- Video or DVD+VR

Whilst the video quality is excellent, there is no sound at all. Under all settings.

I have also tried converting to AVI format and the same problem occurs.

Having failed to export the clip, I chose to let the clip manually convert before writing. Still no sound.

There is no sound when I play the output file on Windows Media Player, nor in the preview window.

What am I missing? Please Help me.

Glen , i had similar audio problems recently with the full version. It would not import dolby digital tracks.... i would get the video but no sound. annoyingly enough the trial version worked great! look at my post " dvdmf4 wont import dolby digital sound " as i went into the project settings , effectively did nothing and it then started working, after three weeks of not doing so. great rugby team you have by the way.... we gave em another " mauling " last night ........
cheers
Rick

from guess where?

Xvid Codec is not supported by any Moviefactory software during conversion so your option is to convert it to MPEG using other software and let MovieFactory burn it to DVD.
