VS Pro X5 Library photos go black in preview window

Post by Mike Warren »

When I select photos in library or on the video track they go black in preview window... nothing appears. But not all... some don't go black. This happens after working on project for 15-20 minutes. When I first start up computer they all appear in preview when selected. No problem then. Same if I shut down and restart computer. Only after working on project awhile does it happen. Also after some time working I get window saying no memory. I thought with 4 ram I could work for hours before getting any problems like this. I plug in my external WD Passport HD only for backups. And with MacShield filter turned off, still have problem. Could it be the VS Pro X5 software?

I received 0 replies to my above question. Does this mean no one has ever experienced this problem??? Does anyone have any idea what may be causing some images in library and video track to appear black in preview window? It's really impossible to work like this. Mike

How large in size are the photos you are working with? How many photos are involved?

Have you looked at the memory state while working with the photos?

Thanks for reply. The photos are the usual JP's I've always used, down loaded from my Canon Power Shot. There may be 50 or 60 on video track on the time line. But what I do have that is most unusual is a ton of narration that has been typed onto the title track... like 90 average to large size paragraphs. Eventually these will be recorded on to narration track and its present typed state will be deleted. In the past I've always noticed that lots of subtitles and type like this seems to slow things down or cause crashes... more then lots of images. For some reason large quantities of typed words seem to put a strain on system. Regards, Mike
