PSPX4 colours gone, cant fully reinstall

Post by bang »

Issue came up today, no colours in the 'materials window palette
everything is just black, touch a colour with the dropper tool and it doesnt change
Image
Image

checked settings, simple things like set to greyscale etc, was set to colours
Image

couldnt figure out what is wrong
decide to uninstall/reinstall after Windows 7 rollback again proved itself to be completely useless
got the application reinstalled ok, but wouldnt load PSPX4_Ult_Bonus_Pack.exe
Image
I mean christ...

need this in 24 hours for paid work
any ideas?
where is sRGB/RGB to be found?

Wow, like holy crap!!!

1) if you have an older version of PSP you can install multiple versions on the same computer. They will co-exist without problems. (this is for your paid work comment)
2) uninstall PSP, then create a new account on your computer with admin privilages through the control panel. Then reinstall PSP in that new account. If it takes it will be available in all accounts on your computer and you can delete the new account.

Have you tried unchecking "Enable Color Management"?
Using Paint Shop Pro versions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16

took awhile to find it, but yes its checked so enabled
its actually visible in the third screen dump down

its crashed a few times while trying to look at settings around colour management

UPDATE!

OK I have removed the version on the other side as it wasnt any better anyway
I blew away all the folders except for EN with plugins and trusted scripts
when I rebboted, err that would be rebooted to any americans :) it still was black everywhere
unchecked colour management up the colours came :) yippee !

so something in there has gone wrong for some reason

just still cant get that Ultimate bonus pack to install
however im not sure what it does as everything I need to use is still with me
including registration of some troublesome plugins

thank you people, especially LindaSue
its 5am, thats what I call tight

I'd say it's time to contact Corel support. That notice happens all the time and is normal. If you check the box to not ask anymore you just won't see it, but it's still converting everything to PSP's colorspace upon import. Always has.

thanks for the reply
I can set color management working space to ignore embedded profiles, but that doesn't seem all that wise

Ive had a look at the profiles on the system and frankly I cant identify sRGB IEC61966-2.1 to be able to know if its in use or even loaded

Ive also been to Adobe site and downloaded the color space profile package, which is a zip file
but on opening I dont see sRGB IEC61966-2.1 specifically mentioned.

of course without it, I cant actually set it in color workspace for PSP
