Color Balance Adjust (X2,X3;X4,X5)

White balance.jpg
in x2 (and earlier I believe) when you manually selected the whitepoint with the dropper tool, the tint and temperature for each point was displayed. But ever since x2 all colors are "not valid"). As it is a tool I use frequently it seems that I'm stuck with x2 (see attachment).

Hi.
Using X4 I get the not valid stuff too, but clicking does select it for colour balance. So it works for me.

just an opinion but
the only thing that has worked more consistently than anything else is an 8bf plugin called ColorWasher
thats the sort of thing that keeps me away from Lightroom and AfterShot

I shoot real estate in such a particular way the I need the best WB tool I can find
what with tungsten, halogen, florescent, flash, and daylight through windows in the same scene
its sometimes a seemingly impossible task
but yes equally hard to satisfy are skin colours

Hi Forriner
Yes, clicking does select a whitepoint, but I like to "surf" the picture to select the right point, and I find it really helpfull that the temperature is displayed while I surf.

Does Not Valid appear for the color or for the Tint?

Admittedly in X5 it's called White Balance, but when hovering over a white area I see "Temp: Not Valid" and "Tint: Not Valid" in other words what I'm clicking on isn't revealing the temp or tint information for adjusting the color but I can still click in those places. Of course there are still areas I can't pick for whatever reason. But for the most part the "Not valid" means practically nothing.
