Capturing in VS6

Post by Roden »

I am running a Pentium 4 in windows XL and VS6. When attempting to capture from my anologue vhs through a Matrox Marvel G450etv although the video plays in the screen perfectly when I try to capture scenes or images the capture results are blurred and unreadable and the colours are all out of whack. I have tried altering the settings in options but to no avail. It has always worked without a hitch but for some reason has now gone all wonkey. The only thing that I can think of was that I did receive a message that my capture card (Matrox) was out of memory so I went into the Matrox website and downloaded some updates. Perhaps this has caused the problems. If it has, how do I rectify them? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That's not something you can fix in UVS itself -- it sounds like you have a problem with the connection or the drivers. If the Matrox card comes with a capture application, I would try that just to rule out UVS as the culprit.

UVS just talks to the capture driver and takes whatever data stream that provides and dumps it to disk, so blurry video cannot be fixed in the program itself.

If you actually flushed your MATROX BIOS chip, there is not much you can do, except get the old settings, if they are available, and reset the chip going through the same motions again.
