[Solved] system crashing opencl bug

Post by DeaconMacmillan »

I have done a bit more reaserch now and I can confirm and reproduce a bug with the latest version of ASP (1.1.0.30) im using an amd a10-4600 based system and opencl is amazing. I can export 50 raw photos in 34 seconds! most raw developers can export one every 15 seconds. there is one bug that beleaguers me. if I close the lid on my lappy and make it sleep, when I wake the system up, if I start asp with opencl enabled my system completely locks up and requires 5 secon one finger salute shutdown. mouse coursor freezes and alt-ctrl-F1 doesn't work. If I turn off hardware acceleration, it doesn't lockup after resuming, and if I reboot and start up with opencl it doesn't lock up either. other opencl programs work fine after resuming and I have tried several configurations of kernels and FGLRX drivers. all with the same results.

ahh cancel that, I think the cause of the problem was a opencl dependency hell problem. I eventualy broke ubuntu after re-installing, everything is groovy, no more crashes! sorry false alarm.
